OpenSocial and SocialGraph APIs

Social networks are creating a high valuable information. Which, in part, is proved by the interest that it awoke in businesses like Google.

Some months ago, Google announced OpenSocial API, a project that try to create a standard way to access that information.

Now Google has announced SocialGraph API. An API which we can access to the currently non-standardized information. Two ways to resolve the same problem ¿aren't it?.
A thing that begins me to frighten is the violation of the privacy, Great Brother and others. With a simple query to the web somebody could know my profile, my favorite web pages, who are my friends, ... Are we not going too far? .... Imagine what our enemies would be able to do with this information.

For more information you can see the folowing article:

No more market research, get real-time feedback!

I'm reading the following book on Google's management model, "The Google Model: A Management Breakthrough", which I really recommend ;-)

According to Bernand Girard, Google created a community which was a determinant point in its success. For example, by allowing its employees to create their own blogs, Google interacted directly with its more innovative clients, which allowed it to create and adapt the products needed by these clients. As the discussions with the innovators was public this fed through to more imitators and therefore more sales, increasing the areas under both curves in the "Bass diffusion model".

With blogs Google opinions leaders reach ten times more people and increase its reputation. And as is mentioned in the following article, a good reputation allows you to sell more at a higher price: "The value of reputation on eBay: a controlled experiment".

How GWT, Gadget and OpenSocial can help us to create social network apps?

Didier Girands gives us a practical example of how we can create a social application in half a day. He starts with MyForms (GWT), continue with Google Gadget and finish with OpenSocial.

What P2P Lending beneath

Web 2.0 is a new buzz word ¿isn't it?. But not all that glitters is gold. In the next post Echevari gives us another point of view about P2P lending.

Samples of Web 2.0 in financial services

I like the next article because we can see how the web 2.0 is starting to penetrate financial services. The article gives us real financial examples of several web 2.0 core aspects, like RIA or Mashups.

Leveraging Web 2.0 in Financial Services

Developing Web 2.0 in comunity, by Sun

This is a most technical vision about Web 2.0 of Sun people:

He talks about used technologies and how Java 5 EE helps to develop this kind of applications.
